Kohli's brilliance against Pakistan earns recognition as India extend rankings lead

Virat Kohli has re-entered the top five in the latest ICC Men’s ODI batting rankings after his stunning century against Pakistan at the ICC Champions Trophy in Dubai.

Kohli’s masterful 51st ODI hundred on Sunday sees him move up one spot to fifth, reinforcing India’s dominance at the top of the batting charts. With Shubman Gill holding firm at No.1 and captain Rohit Sharma at No.3, India now boasts three players in the top five.

Gill has further extended his lead at the top, now 47 rating points clear of second-placed Babar Azam, who has struggled to find form at the Champions Trophy.

While Kohli was the only player to break into the top 10, several rising stars have made big moves. Will Young (up to 14th), Ben Duckett (up to 17th), and Rachin Ravindra (up to 24th) all surged in the rankings after impressive centuries in the tournament. KL Rahul (15th) and Rassie van der Dussen (16th) also made gains.

On the bowling front, Sri Lanka’s Maheesh Theekshana remains the top-ranked ODI bowler despite his team’s absence from the Champions Trophy, with Afghanistan’s Rashid Khan holding onto second place.

South Africa’s Keshav Maharaj (now 4th), New Zealand’s Matt Henry (6th), and Australia’s Adam Zampa (10th) all climbed inside the top 10, while Kagiso Rabada (16th) and Michael Bracewell (26th) made significant jumps.

Bracewell also surged in the all-rounders’ rankings, rising 26 spots to 11th after his four-wicket haul against Bangladesh. His teammate Ravindra moved up to 15th, though Afghanistan’s Mohammad Nabi continues to lead the category.
