Karachi Airport to be closed during the Champions Trophy opening ceremony

To celebrate the start of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has arranged an exciting flypast by Pakistan Air Force (PAF) jets on February 19. As a result, Karachi’s Jinnah International Airport will be temporarily closed.

The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has issued a Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) to inform both national and international airlines about the closure. During the event, a designated air corridor will be closed, meaning no flights will be allowed to take off or land between 1:30 PM and 2:30 PM.

As a precaution, commercial flights arriving at Karachi Airport have been instructed to carry extra fuel and follow additional safety measures. The CAA has communicated these guidelines to all airlines.

Several flights will be impacted by the temporary closure, including AirSial’s Lahore to Karachi flight (PF-144), Fly Jinnah’s Lahore to Karachi flight (9P-843), and Airblue’s Karachi to Lahore flight (PA-402).

Passengers traveling to or from Karachi and Lahore are advised to check with their airlines for updated schedules.
