Josh Inglis is set to strengthen Lucknow Super Giants in the second half of the IPL 2026, with the wicketkeeper-batter expected to join the squad ahead of their clash against Mumbai Indians on May 4.

Inglis has been unavailable so far due to personal commitments, as he got married on April 18 and is currently spending time away before traveling to India. Despite missing a significant portion of the tournament, he remains a key addition for LSG.

The Australian had an impressive campaign last season with Punjab Kings, scoring 278 runs at a strike rate of 162.57. Although released ahead of the 2026 auction, LSG showed strong intent by signing him for INR 8.6 crore. If available from May 4, he could feature in the final six league-stage matches.

At present, LSG’s overseas combination includes Mitchell Marsh, Aiden Markram, and Nicholas Pooran, though the team has not consistently fielded a fourth overseas player. George Linde has featured in recent matches, providing a spin option. Meanwhile, Pooran has struggled for form, scoring just 51 runs in six innings at a strike rate of 80.

Adding to their concerns, fast bowler Anrich Nortje left the squad last week under unclear circumstances after featuring in just one game this season.

Currently, Lucknow Super Giants are placed eighth on the table with two wins from six matches, with victories coming against Kolkata Knight Riders and Sunrisers Hyderabad. They will next face Rajasthan Royals on April 22 at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in a crucial bid to revive their campaign.
