Jhye Richardson will no longer play in the remaining BBL matches due to a left side strain, and his participation in the upcoming ODI series against West Indies is in serious doubt. The injury occurred after the Scorchers’ match against Brisbane Heat, with scans revealing the extent of the damage.

Despite a challenging season, Richardson earned a spot in the Australia squad for the ODI series against West Indies. His current form shows six wickets in matches with an economy rate of 9.18. Unfortunately, injuries have been a recurring issue for Richardson, including shoulder dislocations that required surgery and still impact his ability to throw properly.

The Scorchers are striving for the second spot in the BBL table, providing them with two opportunities to reach the final. The recent defeat to Heat has granted hosting rights for the Qualifier final to the latter.
The ODI series against West Indies is set to commence in Melbourne on February 2.
