New Zealand pacer Jacob Duffy has claimed the No. 1 spot in the men’s T20I bowling rankings, overtaking West Indies spinner Akeal Hosein. His impressive performances in the recent T20I series against Pakistan propelled him to the top.
Duffy was in outstanding form, taking 13 wickets in five matches at an average of 8.38. His standout performance came when he picked up 4 for 14, his best figures in T20Is, helping New Zealand secure a 4-1 series victory. His rise in the rankings saw him leapfrog Hosein, Varun Chakaravarthy, Adil Rashid, and Wanindu Hasaranga. This marks the first time Duffy has held the No. 1 ranking in any format and makes him the first New Zealand bowler to top the T20I rankings since Ish Sodhi in 2018.
Since making his T20I debut in 2020, Duffy has played 23 matches and taken 32 wickets.
Seifert and Allen Climb Batting Rankings
Duffy’s teammate Tim Seifert also made gains in the rankings, jumping five places to No. 8 in the batting charts. Seifert was New Zealand’s top scorer against Pakistan, amassing 249 runs in five games at an average of 62.25. He also registered his career-best T20I score of 97* in the final match while chasing 129. Meanwhile, his opening partner, Finn Allen, moved up one spot to 15th.
Australia’s Travis Head remains the No. 1 T20I batter, followed by India’s Abhishek Sharma at No. 2 and England’s Phil Salt at No. 3. to inspire the next generation of local players to pursue cricket with Warwickshire.

New Zealand’s James Neesham also made a significant leap in the allrounder rankings, climbing 14 places to 30th. His strong performances against Pakistan included a career-best 5 for 22 in the final T20I.
