Islamabad United has reinforced its lineup by welcoming West Indies bowlers Matthew Forde and Obed McCoy to their squad for the remaining matches of the ninth season of the Pakistan Super League (PSL).
Fresh off their engagements in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) 2024 final, where Fortune Barishal emerged triumphant against Comilla Victorians, the duo embarked on their journey from Dhaka to Karachi to join Islamabad United.
During their stint in the BPL, McCoy exhibited his bowling prowess, securing an impressive tally of 12 wickets in eight matches for Fortune Barishal, while Forde contributed significantly with 10 wickets for Comilla Victorians in an equal number of matches.
Currently positioned at fourth place on the points table, Islamabad United, the two-time PSL champions, are set to face Peshawar Zalmi in their upcoming challenge scheduled for March 4 at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.
In a parallel move, West Indies batsman Johnson Charles also made his entry into the Multan Sultans’ squad ahead of their clash with Karachi Kings on Sunday, further intensifying the competition in the league.
