The Ireland Women’s team has been fined 10% of their match fee for a slow over-rate during the third and final ODI of the ICC Women’s Championship series against India in Rajkot on Wednesday.
Match Referee G S Lakshmi of the Emirates ICC International Panel of Match Referees imposed the penalty after Ireland was found to be two overs short of the required target, even with time allowances taken into account.
Under Article 2.22 of the ICC Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel, players are fined 5% of their match fee for each time their team fails to bowl within the allotted time.
The charge was brought by on-field umpires Kim Cotton and Akshay Totre, as well as third umpire Virender Sharma and fourth umpire Vrinda Rathi.

Ireland’s captain, Gaby Lewis, accepted the sanction and pleaded guilty to the offense, which waived the need for a formal hearing.
India won the third ODI, clinching a record victory and taking the series 3-0.
