Injury Setback for Mayank Yadav: LSG Pacer to Miss First Half of IPL 2025

Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) are set to be without Mayank Yadav for the first half of IPL 2025, as the young pacer is still recovering from a lumbar stress injury, according to a report by ESPNcricinfo.

Mayank, who suffered a back injury following his T20I debut for India against Bangladesh last year, has been undergoing rehabilitation at the BCCI’s Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru. While he has recently resumed bowling, there is no confirmed timeline for his return. However, if he clears the required fitness tests, he could be available for the second half of the season.

Mayank Yadav’s Ongoing Injury Struggles

The past year has been challenging for Mayank, who grabbed headlines last season by consistently clocking speeds around 155 kmph. After missing IPL 2023 due to injury, he made a stunning debut in 2024, picking up three wickets against Punjab Kings and following it up with another three-wicket haul against RCB, earning back-to-back Player of the Match awards.

Unfortunately, his season was cut short to just four matches due to a side strain. Despite his limited availability, LSG retained him for INR 11 crore ahead of the IPL 2025 mega auction, showing their faith in his potential.
