India U-19 Reaches Final: Sachin Dhas and Captain Uday Saharan Earn Fan Salutes


In the U-19 World Cup semi-final clash between India and South Africa in Benoni, the match took an intense turn as South Africa’s pacers had India reeling at 32/4. The pressure was on, but Sachin Dhas and captain Uday Saharan emerged as the heroes for India.

Facing a challenging situation, Dhas and Saharan’s partnership of 171 runs turned the game in India’s favor. With a brilliant 96-run innings, Dhas displayed his class, and Saharan gave him vital support. They steadied the innings together with accuracy and poise.

Despite the setback of Dhas’s departure, Saharan, leading by example, displayed exemplary leadership under pressure.By modifying his strategy according to the situation, he led the squad through stressful times and helped India win a close match.

On the South African side, pacers Maphaka and Luus put up a commendable effort. Three significant wickets from Maphaka’s outstanding performance demonstrated his significance in keeping the hosts in the game. Luus made a substantial contribution with the new ball, taking three crucial wickets to put pressure on the Indian batting order.
