England fell short in their chase of 557 runs, losing eight wickets in the final session and getting bowled out for 122 on day four in Rajkot. India secured their largest victory margin in this format, surpassing the 372-run win over New Zealand.

Jadeja took the final wicket, dismissing Mark Wood for 33, and India celebrated their biggest-ever win in terms of runs. England struggled from the start, losing openers, including first-innings centurion Ben Duckett, before tea. Jadeja’s left-arm spin further troubled the middle-order, with Jonny Bairstow and Joe Root both falling early.

Even though skipper Ben Stokes resisted, he eventually fell lbw to left-arm wrist spinner Kuldeep Yadav for 15 in his 100th Test. Indian opener Jaiswal shone with his remarkable 214 off 236 balls, helping India declare their second innings at 430-4. He hit a record-equalling 12 sixes, including three off James Anderson, becoming the first to achieve such a feat against the veteran quick.

Jaiswal’s double ton, along with an unbeaten 172-run partnership with debutant Sarfaraz Khan, set the tone for India’s dominant performance. Despite England collapsing to 319 in their second innings, Ravichandran Ashwin, who returned after a medical emergency, secured his 501st wicket. Ashwin joined an elite group, becoming only the ninth bowler in Test history and the second Indian after Anil Kumble to reach 500 wickets.

India’s victory was set up by captain Rohit Sharma’s 131 and Jadeja’s 112 in the first innings. After losing the opener, India now heads into the fourth Test in Ranchi with back-to-back wins in the series.
