ICC Reappoints Imran Khwaja as Deputy Chair

The International Cricket Council (ICC) Board has reappointed Imran Khwaja as Deputy Chair, effective December 1, 2024. Khwaja has been on the ICC Board since 2008 and has served as Deputy Chair since 2017.

Additional Role and Re-Election

In addition to his Deputy Chair position, Khwaja also serves as an Associate Member Director on the ICC Board, having been re-elected during the ICC Annual Conference in July 2024.

Changes to Leadership Terms

The ICC Board has introduced an important change to leadership terms. The new rule limits both the ICC Chair and Independent Director to two terms of three years each, replacing the previous limit of three terms of two years. The total maximum service time remains at six years.
