Bangladesh’s Sharfuddoula Ibne Shahid Saikat, the country’s only ICC Elite Panel umpire, will be officiating in several matches during this year’s BPL, a notable increase from previous years.
To honor Saikat’s position, he will receive $2000 per match, as confirmed by the umpires’ committee chairman, Iftekhar Ahmed Mithu, on Friday. Saikat, who kicked off his BPL duties with the Chittagong Kings vs Khulna Tigers match on Thursday, will officiate a total of six games. However, he will not be available for the final or playoffs as he is expected to officiate in the India-England series.
