The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has named David Hemp as the new batting coach and Andre Adams as the bowling coach. Both have signed two-year contracts and will begin their roles next month during the home series against Sri Lanka.

David Hemp, a former Bermuda international who played 24 ODIs, previously served as the team’s batting coach during their tour of New Zealand last year. He joined the BCB in May 2023 as the high-performance head coach before being promoted to the senior side. Additionally, he was the head coach of the Pakistan women’s team from 2020 to 2022.

Andre Adams, with experience as a bowling coach for various teams, including New Zealand’s men’s and women’s teams, and as Australia’s assistant coach in the 2022-23 series against South Africa, has played 47 matches across formats for New Zealand.

The coaching positions were vacant following the departure of Allan Donald, the previous fast-bowling coach, and Jamie Siddons, the previous batting coach, after the ODI World Cup in India and the T20 World Cup in 2022, respectively. Chandika Hathurusinghe was overseeing the batting coach role during the last year’s World Cup, assisted by S Sriram as a technical consultant and Nic Pothas as the assistant coach.

In January, the BCB had advertised for new coaching positions, including batting and bowling coaches, a performance analyst, and a strength and conditioning coach.
