Hasan Ali calls out PCB for unfair treatment of injured players

Pakistan pacer Hasan Ali has accused the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) of showing favoritism in how it handles injured players, specifically pointing to the treatment of young opener Saim Ayub.

Speaking on the Ultra Edge podcast, Ali voiced his frustration over what he sees as unfair treatment, recalling how he received little to no support from the PCB when dealing with a serious back injury that sidelined him for months.

“I had severe back pain and was away from cricket for a long time, but the PCB never offered any guidance or assistance with my recovery,” Ali said. “Yet, Saim Ayub is getting VIP treatment for his injury. Was I not part of the team in 2020? Was I playing for India?”

The PCB announces UAE as the neutral venue for the Champions Trophy.

While he wished Ayub a speedy recovery, Ali questioned whether other players would receive the same level of care.

“If another player gets injured tomorrow, will they get the same treatment? No, they won’t,” he stated.

Ali wrapped up his comments with a note of caution, acknowledging Ayub’s talent but reminding everyone that success in cricket can be fleeting.

“If Saim Ayub gets injured again, will they still treat him the same way?” he asked.
