Gambhir Set to Host Team India
Reports suggest that India head coach Gautam Gambhir, a Delhi native, is set to host the team for a dinner at his residence a couple of days before the Test. According to The Tribune, Gambhir plans to hold the dinner in an open-air setting, with the possibility of cancellation if rain disrupts the city’s weather. Delhi has seen rainfall on October 5 and 6, leading to a noticeable drop in temperatures.
This Test will mark just the second match at the Arun Jaitley Stadium under Gambhir’s tenure as head coach and his first Test in Delhi, with India’s last appearance at the venue being a T20I against Bangladesh in 2024.
India Eye Clean Sweep
Currently third on the World Test Championship (WTC) table, India has a chance to climb higher with a series sweep against West Indies. In the first Test, India secured a commanding win by an innings and 140 runs, taking a 1-0 lead in the two-match series.
