The renovation of Gaddafi Stadium is progressing rapidly, with 60% of the work already finished. The stadium is being upgraded to meet international standards ahead of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, set to take place in February-March.
Key upgrades include new seating arrangements and flooring enhancements. These improvements aim to provide a world-class experience for both players and fans.
Progress Review by PCB Chairman
PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi recently visited the stadium to assess the progress. He reviewed construction work on the main building, enclosures, and the installation of new lighting systems.
Naqvi expressed satisfaction with the pace of work and emphasized the importance of meeting deadlines. “The project will be completed before the Champions Trophy,” he assured, highlighting the team’s dedication.
Key Stakeholders Involved
The Frontier Works Organization (FWO) is handling the renovation, with updates provided by FWO’s Project Director. Senior PCB officials, including Chief Operating Officer Sumair Ahmed and other stakeholders, are actively monitoring the progress.
ICC Champions Trophy 2025 Schedule
The tournament will feature eight teams, divided into two groups:
- Group A: Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, New Zealand
- Group B: England, South Africa, Australia, Afghanistan
The matches will be held in Karachi, Lahore, and Rawalpindi. Lahore will host seven matches, including the final on March 9, while Karachi and Rawalpindi will host key fixtures, including semi-finals
