Former Indian cricketer Dodda Ganesh has been named the new head coach of Kenya Cricket, as announced on Tuesday.
Ganesh, a medium-pace bowler and capable lower-order batsman, represented India in 4 Tests and 1 ODI in 1997, scoring 29 runs and taking 6 wickets during his brief international career.
Though his international career was modest, Ganesh enjoyed a stellar domestic run with Karnataka, amassing 493 wickets and 2,548 runs across 193 first-class and List-A matches.

Dodda Ganesh’s Vision for Kenya
Speaking about his new role, Ganesh emphasized that his top priority is to guide the Kenyan team to World Cup qualification.
“My primary goal is to qualify for the World Cup. I’ve observed the dedication and hard work of the players. I’m not concerned with the past; I genuinely believe that Kenyans have the heart of champions. I’ve been watching Kenyan cricket on YouTube, and I’m impressed by the talent on display. The players are clearly in good shape.”
Kenya, a team that played in five World Cups between 1996 and 2011 and reached the semi-finals in 2003, has struggled in recent years. Ganesh’s appointment brings hope for a resurgence as the team aims to reclaim its place on the world stage.
