Earthquake Hits Bangladesh vs Ireland Test; Coaching Staff Rush to Field in Panic

On Friday, November 21, Day 3 of the 2nd and final Test between Bangladesh and Ireland got underway at the Sher-e-Bangla Stadium in Mirpur, Dhaka. The match was briefly interrupted by a rare incident when an earthquake struck the city, causing panic among players and spectators alike.

The tremor hit during the 56th over, lasting around 30 seconds. Players and coaching staff rushed to the field as a precaution, while spectators moved quickly to safer areas. The game resumed shortly after the brief delay. According to local media, the earthquake registered over 5 on the Richter scale, with its epicentre in Ghorashal, Bangladesh. Thankfully, no injuries were reported.

Bangladesh Dominating the Match
Despite the unusual interruption, Bangladesh remain firmly in control of the Test. Batting first, the Tigers posted a massive 476, with Mushfiqur Rahim marking his 100th Test with a century, supported by Litton Das. Ireland, in reply, are struggling at 211/7 after 69 overs.

Bangladesh are currently leading the series 1-0, and a victory in this match would seal the series. However, the game is not part of the ICC World Test Championship, as Ireland are not a full member nation.
