The squad features a mix of promising young talents and experienced players such as Ramesh Mendis, Nishan Madushka, and Nuwanidu Fernando, all of whom have represented the senior national side in recent years.

Milan Rathnayake, known for his all-round skills and recent performances with the senior team, adds depth and balance to the lineup. He’ll be one of the key players to watch during the tournament.

Captain Dunith Wellalage, who previously led Sri Lanka in the 2022 U19 World Cup and is now a regular in the senior setup, will look to guide the side to another strong showing. Sri Lanka have won the Emerging Asia Cup twice in its U23 format and were runners-up in the most recent edition.

This year’s tournament will be held in Qatar, featuring eight teams divided into two groups. Sri Lanka A have been drawn in Group A alongside Afghanistan A, Bangladesh A, and Hong Kong. Their campaign begins against defending champions Afghanistan A on November 15, followed by matches against Hong Kong on November 17 and Bangladesh A on November 19.

India and Bangladesh have already announced their squads for the event — Jitesh Sharma will lead India A, while Akbar Ali captains Bangladesh A. With Sri Lanka and Afghanistan also in the mix, Group A promises some exciting contests for a semifinal berth.
