In an exciting development, the Chief Advisor of the Interim Government is taking an active role in planning and developing the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL). Drawing inspiration from major international sporting events like the Olympics, he has consulted Professor Muhammad Yunus to help craft the tournament’s vision, focusing on branding and enhancing its global appeal.

“This initiative is led personally by the Chief Advisor, who is passionate about elevating the BPL to international standards. Our goal is to transform it into a global brand that showcases the talent of Bangladesh’s young cricketers and the quality of our game,” said BCB director Nazmul Abedin Fahim in Mirpur on Monday.

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) is working on expanding the BPL’s international presence. While not all matches will be broadcast globally, they hope to attract international attention by inviting well-known figures to participate.

“Imagine if Professor Yunus speaks at the event, or if a famous footballer or Hollywood star joins us—that would certainly attract global media coverage. We aim to promote the BPL worldwide and connect with audiences like never before,” the official added.

Additionally, Professor Yunus has contributed lines for the tournament’s theme song, which is expected to enhance the event’s overall atmosphere.
