Padikkal scored a superb 117 in the first innings to climb five places from 59th to a career-best 54th position. India wicketkeeper-batter Dhruv Jurel also made significant progress after his unbeaten 115, rising from 83rd to 65th.
Sri Lanka’s Pasindu Sooriyabandara made a huge jump after scoring 80 and 92 in only his second Test. His performances lifted him 170 places to 74th, while Kamindu Mendis returned to the top 10 after another half-century.
Sonal Dinusha enjoyed an even more remarkable rise after scoring two centuries in the second Test against India in Colombo. The Sri Lankan batter moved to a career-best 25th position, boasting an impressive Test average of 86.57 after his first five matches.
There were also notable movements in the bowling rankings. Sri Lanka’s Asitha Fernando climbed four places to 11th, while India’s Manav Suthar moved up to 44th and Mohammed Siraj rose one spot to 17th.
England’s Ollie Robinson continued his remarkable rise after starring in the 2-0 series lead over Pakistan. The fast bowler took eight wickets for 35 runs at Lord’s and climbed six places to fifth, just one spot below his career-best ranking. Josh Tongue also reached a career-high 13th after taking five wickets in the match.
Pakistan’s Mohammad Abbas moved up 10 places to joint-15th after claiming nine wickets, while Mohammad Ali climbed 11 spots to 81st. Saud Shakeel’s 97 in the second innings helped him rise 15 places to 18th, while Babar Azam slipped five places to 15th.
In the T20I rankings, South Africa’s Dewald Brevis reached a career-best fourth position after a series of impressive performances against Namibia and Zimbabwe, climbing six places in the latest update.
