Deepti said she was thrilled when she was picked by the defending champions, revealing that orange is her favourite colour and that playing in front of the passionate Sunrisers fans in Leeds makes the experience even more special.
“I was very excited when I was picked for Sunrisers Leeds because orange is my favourite colour. So, it always feels good wherever I see orange. Playing on our home ground here in Leeds is special. The ground is full of Sunrisers fans, and everywhere I look, I see orange,” Deepti said during an interaction with JioStar.
The Indian all-rounder also praised the team’s positive environment and the way players have supported each other throughout the tournament. She believes the collective contributions from the squad have been key to their strong campaign.
“As a team, we really appreciate each other’s contributions, whether it’s a good innings or a tight bowling spell. We are enjoying that as a group. The more we learn from these experiences, the better it will be for us,” she added.
Deepti has also made a significant impact on the field during the tournament. She claimed 12 wickets in eight league-stage matches, including an impressive spell of 3/11, underlining her importance to Sunrisers Leeds’ title defence.
With Deepti the only Indian player remaining in the competition, her performances could prove crucial as the defending champions look to secure a place in the playoffs and continue their title defence.
