Indian all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja dismissed his father’s allegations of a strained relationship between them in a social media post on Friday. Earlier in the day, Jadeja’s father, Anirudhsinh, made sensational accusations against his daughter-in-law, alleging she had caused a rift in the family.

In brief : Ravindra Jadeja addressed his father’s allegations by sharing a post on his Twitter handle, urging people not to believe in “scripted interviews.” This comes as Jadeja recently missed India’s 2nd Test against England.

Indian cricketer Ravindra Jadeja dismissed his father’s claims of a strained relationship between them, labeling his father’s interview as nonsensical and scripted. Anirudhsinh Jadeja, in a surprising allegation, stated that issues arose in their relationship after Ravindra’s marriage to Rivaba in April 2016.

Jadeja took to his social media platform to urge people not to trust “scripted interviews.” The Indian all-rounder also expressed concern about efforts to tarnish his and his wife’s reputation. His wife, a member of the Gujarat Legislative Assembly representing the Jamnagar North Assembly constituency, was also mentioned in his statement.

Let’s ignore what’s said in scripted interviews, Jadeja wrote on Friday, February 9.

The things mentioned in the dubious interview to Divya Bhaskar are meaningless and false. Those are one-sided comments that I deny them. The attempt to tarnish the image of my wife is improper and condemnable. I too have a lot to say but it is better that I don’t reveal those things in public.

‘There’s just hate’

In an interview with Divya Bhaskar, Jadeja’s father alleged Rivaba was creating a rift in the family. He also mentioned that there’s nothing but hatred between the two families.

He is my son, and it burns my heart. I wish I hadn’t gotten him married. It would have been better if he hadn’t become a cricketer. We would not have to go through all this in that case, Jadeja’s father said.

Within three months of the marriage, she told me that everything should be transferred to her name. She created a rift in our family. She didn’t want the family and desired an independent life. I could be wrong, and Naynaba (Ravindra’s sister) could be wrong, but you tell me, how can all 50 members of our family be wrong? There’s no relation with anyone in the family; there’s just hate.

Jadeja is currently recuperating from a hamstring injury, which sidelined him from India’s second Test against England in Visakhapatnam. The injury occurred during the Hyderabad Test, leading to Sourabh Kumar and Washington Sundar replacing him in the Vizag squad.

It remains to be seen if Jadeja recovers in time and gets selected in the Indian squad for the last three Tests to be held in Rajkot, Ranchi, and Dharamsala.
