Under the updated calendar, Australia will host Bangladesh in an ODI series in October 2026, followed by a T20I series against New Zealand later the same month. A further ODI series against New Zealand is scheduled for March 2027.
The adjustments were made following the ICC’s decision to advance the 2027 Women’s Champions Trophy from June to February, requiring changes to the international scheduling window. CA confirmed that the revised fixtures were finalized in consultation with New Zealand Cricket and the Bangladesh Cricket Board to ensure alignment with ICC commitments and the interests of touring teams.
One of the major highlights of the revised schedule is a day-night ODI between Australia and New Zealand at Junction Oval on Monday, March 8, coinciding with the Labour Day public holiday in Melbourne and International Women’s Day. The match will also mark the first-ever international fixture played under lights at the venue.
The game will form part of a broader cricket celebration in Melbourne ahead of the historic 150th Anniversary Men’s Test, scheduled to begin on March 11.
CA Head of Scheduling and Cricket Operations Peter Roach said the revised programme was designed to balance global commitments while enhancing the visibility of women’s cricket.
“Following the ICC’s change to the Champions Trophy dates, we have developed a revised schedule that delivers the best possible outcome for players and fans,” Roach said. “We are especially pleased that women’s cricket will feature prominently ahead of the 150th Anniversary Test, including the first international match under lights at Junction Oval. We thank Bangladesh and New Zealand for their cooperation, particularly New Zealand for agreeing to tour Australia twice.”
Tickets for the women’s international season will go on sale from July 23, with a CricketPlus pre-sale beginning on July 20.
