Cricket Australia is looking to talk to Maxwell, 35, about a recent incident in Adelaide. Reports say he went to the hospital after attending a concert last Friday featuring the band Six & Out, composed of former cricket stars like Brett Lee.

“Cricket Australia is aware of an incident involving Glenn Maxwell in Adelaide at the weekend and is seeking further information,” said a spokesperson.

Maxwell won’t be playing in the upcoming 50-overs series against the West Indies, but Cricket Australia says it’s not related to the recent incident in Adelaide. He’s set to make a comeback for the Twenty20 series starting February 9 after the one-day international games. Maxwell, known for his white-ball prowess, last played Test cricket in 2017 and was a key player in Australia’s 50-overs World Cup win over India.
The incident in Adelaide is just the latest in a string of challenges for Maxwell, who missed a World Cup match because of a golf cart injury and broke his leg at a friend’s birthday party in November 2022.
