Illingworth and Gaffaney to Lead On-Field Duties

English umpire Richard Illingworth and New Zealand’s Chris Gaffaney have been appointed as the on-field umpires for the final. Illingworth, recently named ICC Umpire of the Year, is set to create history by standing in his third consecutive WTC final. Gaffaney, who brings a wealth of experience from high-pressure matches — including the 2024 T20 World Cup Final and the 2023 WTC Final — will partner Illingworth for this marquee event.

TV and Fourth Umpires Announced

Joining the officiating team is England’s Richard Kettleborough, who will take on the role of TV umpire. Kettleborough also served as third umpire in the inaugural WTC Final in 2021. Meanwhile, India’s Nitin Menon will act as the fourth umpire, marking his first appearance in a WTC final — a significant moment in his career. Menon previously officiated as TV umpire in the 2021 T20 World Cup.
