Chris Guest Appointed as England Women’s U19 Performance Lead

Chris Guest, who was the head coach of The Blaze, has been named the England Women’s U19 Performance Lead.

Guest, 40, previously led Loughborough Lightning and The Blaze, winning the Charlotte Edwards Cup this season. He also coached the England Women’s U19 team in the 2023 World Cup and the U19 tri-series involving Sri Lanka, England, and Australia.

In his new role, Guest will oversee the U19 Women’s T20 World Cup in Malaysia next year, manage talent identification, and work with both academy and senior programs. He has also been an assistant coach at Northern Superchargers for the past three editions of The Hundred.

Guest has a background in ECB pathway coaching with Derbyshire and Staffordshire.

He expressed his excitement about the new role, emphasizing his passion for developing young cricketers and his pride in representing England.

Richard Bedbrook, head of England Women Performance Pathways, praised Guest’s extensive experience and strong relationships with domestic teams. He believes Guest will positively influence the development of high-potential players.
