The action is back in the Dhaka leg of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) after a one-day hiatus, and it’s a chilly affair as Durdanto Dhaka squares off against Chattogram Challengers in the opening fixture of today’s double-header, amidst the season’s coldest temperatures in Dhaka.

The Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium is the venue where players, technicians and brave fans are braving the bitter cold. Chattogram won the toss and elected to field first in this frosty clash.

The day’s second match features Fortune Barishal taking on Khulna Tigers, scheduled to kick off at 6:30 p.m. Despite the heavy cloud cover, floodlights are in operation even for the day game due to minimal sunlight.

Compared to the initial two days of the season, fan turnout was notably lower, with those in attendance wrapping themselves in layers of clothing to combat the icy weather.

Meanwhile, players from the sidelines are not letting the cold keep them away from the action. Comilla Victorians and Sylhet Strikers players, although not in today’s lineup, have turned up at Mirpur for a dedicated training session, demonstrating their commitment even in the face of chilly conditions.
