Chameera Forced to Sit Out Second ODI Due to Quadriceps Injury

Dushmantha Chameera will not be playing in Sri Lanka’s second ODI against Afghanistan due to a left quadriceps injury. Asitha Fernando has been called in as his replacement. Chameera suffered the injury during the first ODI, limping off during his eighth over. While he’s feeling better, the extent of the injury is unknown, and a specialist in the UK will review the scan results. As for Fernando, he last played an ODI in November 2022 against Afghanistan, but he has shown promise in Tests, particularly in the recent match against Afghanistan where he took six wickets.
