In an unexpected turn of events, neither Tamim Iqbal, the captain of Barishal, nor Liton Das, leading Comilla, were in attendance at the ‘BPL Trophy Photoshoot with Captains’ event held at the Ahsan Manzil Museum in Dhaka today.
Despite the event being scheduled and announced by the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) on Wednesday, both captains failed to make an appearance even hours after the designated start time of 10:00 am.
Instead, representatives from each team—Mehedi Hasan Miraz from Fortune Barishal and Jaker Ali from Comilla Victorians—stepped in to fulfill their obligations. They posed with the coveted trophy and participated in the subsequent press conference originally intended for the captains.

This occurrence isn’t novel in the realm of the Bangladesh Premier League, where the board has encountered challenges in ensuring the presence of all captains for pre-tournament photoshoots. Such incidents have recurred, highlighting organizational hitches leading to captaincy representation issues.
