Pace sensation Nahid Rana starred with the ball, taking four crucial wickets to lead Rangpur Riders to a 34-run victory over Sylhet Strikers in the Bangladesh Premier League in Mirpur on Tuesday.
Rana dismantled Sylhet’s batting lineup, dismissing key players Zakir Hasan, Paul Stirling, Jaker Ali, and Samiullah Shinwari, limiting them to 121-9 in pursuit of Rangpur’s 155-6. Left-arm spinner Khushdil Shah and pacer Mohammad Saifuddin also contributed with two wickets each.
This win marked Rangpur’s second consecutive triumph, following their victory over Dhaka Capitals at the same venue a day earlier.
Earlier in the match, skipper Nurul Hasan Sohan played a crucial knock, smashing 41 off 24 balls to push Rangpur past 150 after a shaky start at 69-4 in the 12th over. He was supported by Iftikhar Ahmed, who added a steady 47 off 42 balls in a 65-run partnership.
