Nepal had earlier invited Bangladesh to play a bilateral series on their home soil, and the BCB has responded positively to the proposal. BCB cricket operations in-charge Shahriar Nafees confirmed that discussions between the two boards are currently underway.
“The Nepal Cricket Board sent us a proposal quite some time ago, expressing their interest in playing a bilateral series with Bangladesh. The Bangladesh Cricket Board has taken that invitation very positively,” Nafees said.
However, no dates or format have been finalised yet. Bangladesh’s Future Tours Programme is already packed, meaning the two boards will need to identify a suitable window within the current cycle.
“The cycle is until 2027. We have the intention to do it within this cycle, and there is also that request from the Nepal Cricket Association. So, we are positively working it out,” Nafees added.
Meanwhile, the BCB is continuing preparations for Bangladesh’s upcoming international assignments. Players involved in the Asian Games have begun their skills preparation, while others have started a conditioning camp ahead of the Afghanistan series.
Bangladesh’s broader 2026-27 schedule has been planned well in advance, with the board expected to fine-tune preparations as the different formats and assignments approach.
The proposed Bangladesh-Nepal series would provide Nepal with another opportunity to gain international exposure while strengthening bilateral cricketing ties between the two South Asian nations.
