Dhaka faced their ninth straight defeat in the BPL as they chased 187 runs. Alex Ross played a remarkable innings of 89 off 48, hitting five boundaries and seven sixes, but Dhaka ended at 159-8 in 20 overs. Besides Mohammad Naim (10), Seam Williams (12), and Taskin Ahmed (10), none of the other batters reached double digits.
Barishal’s Khaled Ahmed and Mohammad Saifuddin took three wickets each. Earlier, Tamim Iqbal’s 71 off 45 balls propelled Barishal to set a total of 186-6. Tamim and Ahmed Shehzad started with a 76-run opening partnership. Tamim then added 48 more runs with Soumya Sarkar before being caught by Saif Hassan off Alauddin Babu. Alauddin took three wickets, Taskin took two, and Shoriful got one for Dhaka.
