A total of eight teams will compete, providing opportunities for 112 players to participate in a structured and competitive environment. Each participant will receive a match fee of Tk 25,000 for the duration of the tournament.
The BCB will also arrange accommodation for players and coaching staff, ensuring smooth logistics throughout the event. In addition, prize money will be awarded in multiple categories, including champion team, player of the match, and other individual performance awards.
This initiative comes after the Dhaka Women’s First Division Cricket League could not be held this year due to clubs’ protests over the board’s legitimacy. Meanwhile, the inaugural Women’s Bangladesh Premier League (WBPL), originally scheduled for April with three franchises, has been postponed to July.
The BCB Women’s Cup aims to give domestic players a competitive platform and maintain momentum for women’s cricket in Bangladesh ahead of the WBPL.
