The decisions were finalized during a board meeting in Dhaka on August 9, where officials agreed on several key reforms.

Three Key Additions to the Setup
As reported by ESPN Cricinfo, the BCB has brought in Alex Marshall, Julian Wood, and Tony Hemming to bolster different areas of the game.

Marshall, who led the ICC’s Anti-Corruption Unit until September 2024, will serve as a consultant for one year. His primary task will be to enhance the board’s anti-corruption wing, which is currently probing match-fixing allegations from the 2024–25 Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) and Dhaka Premier League.

Julian Wood, a power-hitting specialist with prior experience at Sri Lanka Cricket, joins as batting coach for a three-month stint. His focus will be on improving Bangladesh’s boundary-hitting capabilities.

Tony Hemming, who previously worked as BCB’s curator between July 2023 and July 2024 before moving to the Pakistan Cricket Board, returns as head of turf management on a two-year contract. He will oversee all international venues, guide local curators, and manage pitch preparations across the country.

Mymensingh Joins First-Class Cricket
The BCB also confirmed Mymensingh as the newest addition to Bangladesh’s first-class structure. They will replace Dhaka Metropolis in the National Cricket League (NCL), a side that was introduced in 2011 to even out the team count. Mymensingh will compete in all divisional tournaments but will enter the NCL T20 competition only from the next edition due to scheduling conflicts.
