Bangladesh beat Pakistan in Women’s ODI World Cup

Bangladesh got their first win against Pakistan in the Women’s ODI World Cup. The tigresses won the thrilling match by 9 runs on Monday.

Nigar Sultana’s team scored 234 runs for the loss of seven wickets batting first in Hamilton today. However, Pakistan could not reach that target in the stipulated 50 overs. They could score 225 runs for the loss of 9 wickets. And this ensured a historic victory for the women in the World Cup.

Of course, the road to victory wasn’t smooth. Pakistan were 155 for the loss of one wicket and were getting the fragrance of victory. From there, Bangladesh took control of the match at the turn of Fahima Khatun and Rumana Ahmed. Pakistan lost six wickets for 33 runs and their score stood at 188 for seven! Sidra Amin fought at one end but could not win the team. After playing a brilliant innings of 104 runs, the Pakistan batsman returned to the run-out and ensured an incredible victory for Bangladesh.

Among the Bangladesh bowlers, Fahima Khatun became the best of the match with the highest three wickets for 38 runs. Rumana also took two wickets. Jahanara Alam and Salma Khatun took one wicket each.
