Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan, and Shaheen Shah Afridi experienced significant drops in the latest ICC Men’s T20I Rankings after Pakistan’s 3-0 defeat to Australia.
Pakistan’s batters struggled in the series, with Usman Khan the only one to score a half-century, making 59 runs across three innings, the most by any visiting batter. Babar Azam scored 47 runs in total, with a best of 41, and dropped to fifth in the rankings. Rizwan also slipped one spot to sixth.
Apart from Babar and Rizwan, no other Pakistani batter is in the top 50 of the T20I batting rankings.
In contrast, India’s Tilak Varma had a strong series against South Africa, rising 69 places to third in the batting rankings, becoming the top-ranked Indian batter. Suryakumar Yadav followed closely in fourth, while Sanju Samson moved up 17 places to 22nd after scoring two centuries in the series.

On the bowling side, Shaheen Afridi fell 10 places to 24th, while Haris Rauf climbed four spots to 20th for his strong performances. Australia’s Adam Zampa moved up to third, and Nathan Lyon surged 15 spots to 11th.
