The tour will feature three One Day Internationals (ODIs) followed by three T20 Internationals (T20Is), with the series beginning on June 9. The ODI leg will be played on June 9, 11 and 14, while the T20I matches are scheduled for June 17, 19 and 21.
All ODI matches will take place at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Dhaka, while the T20I series will be hosted at the Bir Sreshtho Flight Lieutenant Matiur Rahman Stadium in Chattogram.
In a significant development, a new broadcasting rights agreement will ensure live coverage of the series in Australia, with Fox Cricket and Kayo Sports set to telecast the matches. This marks a change from their last white-ball engagement in Bangladesh in 2021, when no broadcast deal allowed the series to be shown in Australia despite Australia losing the T20I series 4-1.
Australia last played an ODI series in Bangladesh in 2011, making this upcoming tour their first bilateral 50-over assignment in the country in over a decade. The series also comes shortly after Australia’s planned three-match ODI series in Pakistan, scheduled to begin on May 30, with fixtures yet to be officially announced.
The Bangladesh tour will be Australia’s first T20I assignment following their early exit in the group stage of the 2026 T20 World Cup. Meanwhile, Bangladesh are also set to tour Australia for two Test matches in August—its first Test series in the country since 2003, with matches planned in Darwin and Mackay.
Chief selector George Bailey has indicated that Australia will hold preparatory training camps in May for white-ball players and potential squad members not involved in ongoing franchise leagues.
“We’ve got a batch of camps in May before the Pakistan and Bangladesh white-ball series, and we’re focused on which players we’re going to take there at the moment,” Bailey said, as reported on April 1 by cricket.com.au.
