Australia faces setbacks ahead of the upcoming three-match ODI series against the West Indies as key players Glenn Maxwell and Jhye Richardson will be absent. Maxwell, a crucial all-rounder and recent ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup winner, will be managed, while fast bowler Richardson is sidelined due to a side injury. The absence of these players adds to the list of World Cup winners missing the series. In their place, young talents Jake Fraser-McGurk and pacer Xavier Bartlett have been called up, offering them the opportunity for their first international appearance if selected. Steve Smith will lead the side, with Travis Head as his deputy. The series kicks off in Melbourne on February 2, followed by matches in Sydney and Canberra, and is followed by a three-match T20I series from February 9-13.
