Australia Dominates U19 World Cup Semi-Final, Restricting Pakistan to 179 Runs


In the U19 World Cup 2024 semi-final, Australia chose to bowl first against Pakistan in Benoni. Pakistan scored 179 runs, and Tom Straker from Australia stood out with six wickets for 24 runs. Only Azan Awais and Arafat Minhas scored more than 50 runs.

Azan Awais and Arafat Minhas made 52 each, while no other player scored above 20. The winner of this match will face India in the final on February 11.

During the toss, Australian captain Hugh Weibgen mentioned they were thinking of batting second based on how the pitch behaved in the first semi-final.

“We had a look at the pitch yesterday, some cracks and soft. The pitch got better to bat on the last game that was played here.”
