In a landmark step toward gender equality, the National Sports Council (NSC) is set to appoint the BCB’s first female director, replacing M Isfak Ahsan on the 25-member board. This move marks a significant shift in the board’s composition.

BCB’s Push for Gender Equality
In his first presser after the election, Aminul highlighted the importance of including women on the board to ensure gender balance.

“Look, the law in cricket changes every year. With the new law, playing conditions also change. But our constitution doesn’t change. So we will try to bring some changes,” Aminul said.

He added, “The biggest change we should bring is that our cricket board is male dominated. We need female directors to create gender equality. We need independent directors. We will work a lot on that.”

A Call to All Stakeholders
Bulbul also invited all stakeholders to contribute to Bangladesh cricket, whether or not they are on the board. The election saw controversy, with star player Tamim Iqbal withdrawing his candidacy citing government interference, and several club officials boycotting the process.

“Regardless of who is on the board, we will invite everyone to work with us and help take Bangladesh cricket forward. Bangladesh belongs to everyone. We will soon go to them (protesting clubs) and ask them to cooperate,” Aminul concluded.

Under Aminul Islam Bulbul’s leadership, the BCB aims to foster unity, inclusivity, and collective responsibility, with a focus on strengthening Bangladesh cricket and advancing the nation’s cricketing future.
