Pakistan has been eliminated from the T20 World Cup 2024 after losing their first two Group A matches against the United States and India.

Pakistan’s hopes of reaching the Super 8 depended on the USA losing to Ireland. However, the match was washed out, and both teams received equal points.

The USA advanced to the next round with five points, having won two matches and lost one. In contrast, Pakistan only won one match, earning two points.

Following their elimination, Pakistani cricketers and fans are unhappy with the team’s performance.

Ahmed Shehzad criticized Pakistan’s captain Babar Azam and wicketkeeper-batsman Muhammad Rizwan, blaming them for the team’s exit. He claimed they were more focused on their personal records than the team’s success and questioned the decision to reappoint Babar as captain.

Shehzad also spoke about alleged team grouping issues, saying these groups and the “fake king” should be removed. He offered to join the team if selectors deemed him a good fit.

Former cricketers Imran Nazir and Imam ul Haq also shared their views. Nazir said the USA deserved their promotion to the Super 8, while Pakistan played under too much pressure. Imam pointed out issues with Pakistan’s spinners and middle-order, suggesting that domestic players should be given more encouragement.
