Razzak, who was previously part of the national selection panel and also served as a director in the former BCB board led by Aminul Islam, confirmed the development on Monday.

As part of the reshuffle, national senior assistant coach Mohammad Salahuddin has been appointed head of the HP Unit and is expected to take charge after the ongoing series against Pakistan.

According to Cricbuzz, Razzak had long shown interest in coaching and recently completed his Level 3 coaching certification in January 2026 to prepare for his new role.

The former spinner also shared that his playing experience, including learning from remodeling his bowling action during his career, will help him guide young cricketers more effectively.

Razzak represented Bangladesh in 13 Tests, 34 T20Is, and 153 ODIs, taking over 250 international wickets across formats, and is now looking forward to contributing to player development through coaching.
