With this victory, India secured their third ICC white-ball title in just over 20 months. The Men in Blue had previously beaten South Africa in the 2024 T20 World Cup final in Barbados, ending a long ICC title drought, and overcame New Zealand by four wickets in the 2025 Champions Trophy final in Dubai.
Four players have been part of all three of these ICC triumphs, starting with the 2024 T20 World Cup in the West Indies and the United States.
1 Hardik Pandya
The 2024 T20 World Cup marked Hardik Pandya’s redemption story. Despite criticism during the preceding IPL, Pandya responded with stellar performances on the field.
2024 T20 WC: 144 runs in six innings at a strike rate of 151.57, including a quickfire 50* off 27 against Bangladesh; 11 wickets at an economy of 7.64, including 3-30 in the final and bowling the tense last over.
2025 Champions Trophy: 99 runs in four innings at 24.75 with a strike rate of 106.45; one wicket in seven overs.
2026 T20 WC: 217 runs in nine innings at a strike rate of 160.74 with two fifties; 9 wickets at 32.33 with an economy of 8.81.
Pandya’s all-round contributions have been vital in India’s consistent ICC success.
2 Axar Patel
Axar Patel has been a key all-round contributor in all three ICC wins.
2024 T20 WC: 92 runs in five innings, including 47 off 31 in the final; 9 wickets at 7.86 economy, including 3-23 in the semifinal against England (Player of the Match).
2025 Champions Trophy: 109 runs at 27.25 with a strike rate of 114.14; 5 wickets at 4.35 economy.
2026 T20 WC: Played a minimal role with the bat; took 11 wickets in seven matches at 18.63 with an economy of 8.20, including 3-27 in the final.
The left-arm spinner and vice-captain was also exceptional in the field during the semifinal.
3 Arshdeep Singh
Left-arm pacer Arshdeep Singh has been a consistent wicket-taker in India’s ICC triumphs.
2024 T20 WC: 17 wickets in 8 matches at 12.64 average and 7.16 economy; 2-20 in the final.
2025 Champions Trophy: Part of the squad but did not feature in matches.
2026 T20 WC: 9 wickets at 28.22 with an economy of 8.46; crucial breakthroughs in key matches.
Arshdeep has complemented the India pace attack in every major ICC tournament he has played.
4 Kuldeep Yadav
Left-arm wrist-spinner Kuldeep Yadav has consistently impressed in India’s recent ICC campaigns.
2024 T20 WC: 10 wickets in 5 matches at 13.90 average and 6.95 economy; 3-19 in the semifinal against England.
2025 Champions Trophy: 7 wickets in 5 matches at 31.85 average and 4.79 economy; notable performances included 3-40 vs Pakistan and 2-40 in the final vs New Zealand.
2026 T20 WC: Played one match, claiming 1-14 in three overs against Pakistan.
Kuldeep’s spin has added depth and balance to India’s bowling unit across formats.
These four players — Hardik Pandya, Axar Patel, Arshdeep Singh, and Kuldeep Yadav — have been at the heart of India’s ICC white-ball dominance, contributing significantly to the Men in Blue’s remarkable three-title streak over the last 20 months.
